The "Day Centre Visit Service," co-organized by Senior Care and Hong Chi Fu Shin Centre, was successfully held on 27th August 2025. On that day, Senior Care's corporate volunteer team spent a pleasant afternoon with the centre’s service users (members).
Before the event, Hong Chi Fu Shin Centre staff briefed the volunteers on the service details and led a tour of the centre's various rehabilitation facilities, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of the members ' daily routines and habits, as well as the regular training curriculum.
At the beginning of the event, volunteers led warm-up games, allowing the volunteers and members to get to know each other in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Afterward, in a handicraft-making session, volunteers worked one-on-one with the members to create Mid-Autumn Festival lantern ornaments. Everyone was very engaged, and the members ' handicrafts were creative and festive, becoming some gifts from the volunteer team for the members. Finally, the corporate volunteer team and the members participated in a "quiz with prizes" session, allowing everyone to learn more about traditional Mid-Autumn Festival customs.
At the end of the event, all the volunteers, Hong Chi Association staff, and the members took a group photo. A senior social worker from the Hong Chi Association led a debriefing for the volunteer team to summarize their experiences and gains from the volunteer service. A representative from the Senior Care Headquarters presented certificates of appreciation to the volunteers, commending their contributions.
The participating volunteers found the day centre visit service extremely meaningful, broadening their horizons and understanding the needs of various vulnerable groups in the community. Many volunteers also recommended the corporate volunteer team's services to other staff at their respective homes and look forward to the opportunity to serve the community together again in the near future.
